Data Storage
Eveno stores your groups, people, expenses, recorded settle-up payments, and any photos you attach (expense receipts, group cover art, people's avatars) on your device using Core Data. NorthPack Studios LLC has no servers and no access to your data.
iCloud Sync
When you're signed in to iCloud, Eveno mirrors your data to your private iCloud database (CloudKit) so it syncs across your devices. It lives in your personal iCloud account — only you can see it. If iCloud isn't available, Eveno keeps everything on-device until it is.
Sharing a Group
Eveno Pro lets you share a group with other people. When you do, that group — its expenses, recorded payments, roster, and any receipt or cover photos — is placed in a shared iCloud zone the people you invite can read and edit. Only the specific group you share is affected; the rest of your data stays private. You (or any participant) can stop sharing or leave at any time from the group's Sharing screen.
No Tracking
Eveno does not collect analytics, track your usage, or share any user data with third parties.
Exchange Rates
To show home-currency estimates on the settle-up screens (free) and a single combined total across groups in different currencies on the home screen (Eveno Pro), Eveno fetches public exchange rates from open.er-api.com. These requests contain no personal data — just the rate query — and results are cached on-device for about 24 hours.
Backups & Export
Exporting a backup writes a JSON file wherever you choose to save it; it leaves your device only if you share that file. Importing a backup, or loading the sample dataset, replaces the data currently on this device. CSV and PDF exports of a group are likewise plain files you choose where to send.
In-App Purchases
Eveno Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. NorthPack Studios LLC does not see or store your payment information. Eveno reads your purchase entitlement from the App Store on launch so it knows whether to unlock Pro features, and listens for entitlement changes (purchases, refunds, family sharing) — that signal stays between your device and the App Store.
Home Screen Widget
If you add the Eveno widget to your Home or Lock Screen, Eveno writes a small summary of your data — net balance, per-group balances, group names, colors, and member counts — to a private container on this device shared with the widget extension. The summary stays on-device, never syncs to iCloud, and is only readable by Eveno and the Eveno widget. While you're viewing sample data in the app, the widget keeps showing your last real summary; sample data is never written to the widget.
Sample Data
When you open Eveno without any groups, you'll see a welcome screen with an opt-in "Try with sample data" link. If you tap it, Eveno loads a bundled sample dataset so you can explore every feature before committing real data. Sample data ships with the app, lives only in memory on your device, never syncs to iCloud, never produces a CKShare, and is discarded the moment you begin tracking your own groups. While viewing sample data, Export, Delete All Data, and Share Group are disabled or routed through a confirmation that switches you to your own data first.
